The introduction of its most recent edition is a far greater aspect of it than just the fantastic commercial and partnership potential.

What’s new in Odoo Version 16?

With each new release, we've seen Odoo's performance and stability increase. With only a month till the official release of Odoo Version 16, let's get started with some expected Odoo 16 features.

New Addition to the Odoo Ecosystem: Knowledge App

Odoo will focus more on organizing information with the Knowledge app, drawing ideas from Wiki, Notion, and the company's own knowledge library. While carrying out processes, this app enables access to the templates and procedures.

 

Website Builder in Odoo 16 Gets More Efficient

OdooVersion 16 has combined the website's back-end and front-end, allowing for more customization and control over building blocks, page components, and so on. It will improve the user experience of creating a website and make it easier for Odoo users to design and manage their websites.

 

E-wallet, Coupons, and promotions in Odoo POS, eCommerce, and Sales

 Users will have access to unified coupons and promos via POS, eCommerce, and sales orders.

Coupons and promotions were processed differently in earlier iterations of Odoo, which made it difficult to utilize them together in the coupon administration process.

Expected Features of Odoo 16 Accounting Module

  • Credit limit: warning on Quotations/Sales Orders and Invoices
  • E-invoicing
  • Reconciliation Widget has a more user-friendly approach
  • Better asset management with more options like cancellation and accurate computations.
  • Importing operations made easy: easily switch to Odoo Accounting
  • OCR for customer invoices: separate settings for customer invoice

Subscription Merges with Sales Order

Subscription will now be merged with the SO for better user experience and easy management.

 Marketing Improvements

The email marketing module is now more improved with new features like:

  • Starting the mail where you have left drafting
  • Change the global attributes of emails all at once
  • Saving filters to reload later
  • Import contacts in the database by coping or pasting the email address
  • New templates for email
  • Social marketing will let users re-tweet and quote from the dashboard itself.

Expected Inventory Enhancements in Odoo 16

The inventory module will now be equipped with more tools and features that will enhance the module’s efficiency and management.

There will be a force back-order feature that will give the option to choose whether to ask for backorder in operation type, reducing confusion in the order management process.

Local Shipping Methods and Zip Code Support

Enhanced postcode filter on the shipping method.

Add text with dedicated shipping/pickup instructions in the order confirmation emails.

 

Scripted Batches

Depending on the operation type setting, batches will be formed. Group Transfers contacts, carriers, destinations, or source/destination locations automatically. The batch size can be restricted by move lines, transferring,

Replenishment visibility days will eliminate the issue we used to have for visibility while planning the replenishment.  The “Visibility Days” field will be added, functioning as a “days to purchase” setting but at the replenishment line level.

Odoo 16 MRP Advantages

Manufacturing orders can now be divided and merged.

The allocation report is now in production; if a link is included to the sales order, clients may view the progress of their manufacturing order in the customer portal at any time.

Subcontracting allows the subcontractor to track production.

Manufacturing worksheets will be available in the MRP module (similar to field service) to assist users in completing operations, processes, and quality checks.

 Production planning and scheduling will assist you in defining a sequence for your operations- which manufacturing orders must be fulfilled sequentially and which should operate concurrently.

 Other Things to Expect Odoo V16 includes eCommerce Rental.

A project scorecard can help you determine the profitability of your initiatives.

Stripe Connect has been acquired by a new payment provider.

The sign has been improved (one can refuse to sign a contract)

The user will be able to check the validity date of their available days with Time off.

You can choose the order or sequence of approvals in approvals.
